Through the years we have evolved with the petroleum storage and distribution industry. An industry that is facing more challenges now than ever before. Unfortunately, there are many plants out there that have chosen not to adapt with the industry and instead attempt to maintain equipment and technology that date back over 50 years. This is not sustainable. Making the necessary upgrades or changes now will allow you to continue into the future.
This winter was a reminder that sustained degree days are NOT a thing of the past. The industry was blessed with a long sustained cold winter season. As great as this blessing was, it brought some pain to a number of owners who were left managing long obsolete equipment that decided to die during the height of their heating season. Days and weeks were missed because warnings were not headed about the lack of repair parts for their equipment causing positions to sit dormant. Don’t let this be you.

The above Marlow pump was a workhorse in it’s day, but it’s time is coming to a close. Marlow obsoleted this pump line 20+ years ago. Parts are very difficult to come by which makes service almost impossible. We see this pump very often during service calls. This calls always end with a plan to “get by” and replacement options.
